I went out on a date the other day. I didn't have a car and so I thought to myself, "What would be the best place around campus to take a girl for some lunch?" Artopolis.
Artopolis brings a true European style cafe right to the heart of Chicago. Inside this open-aired loft space is a European style Cafe, with several types of coffee and pastries; a bakery with daily fresh baked breads, and an assortment of wines and beers all at a remarkably low cost.
I ordered the Portobello Chevre, another delicious sandwich made with Portobello mushrooms, Florina peppers, marinated red onions, goat cheese and garlic olive oil, on Sun-dried Tomato Boule for only $8.95.
She ordered the Capricciozo, a sandwich spliced with Plum Tomato, Kasseri cheese, fresh basil, and garlic olive tapinade, on a Cheesy Foccacia bun and only $6.95.
Needless to say, I earned myself a second date, and if you want that next date to be a shoo-in, Artopolis is the way to go.
