Let me paint a picture for all those that did not go to class that dreary, bleak day. The sky was a giant slab of gray concrete; rain came and went, lingering throughout the day. It was one of those days where you wake up and laugh at the poor saps walking outside of their warm and cozy bedrooms.

The event was scheduled to take place Sept. 5 in the quad, but, as USG president Edgar Staren explained, "The night before, we checked the forecast, and it showed a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms.

On Friday Sept. 22, thousands of people, including hundreds of students and staff members from the University of Illinois at Chicago, will gather downtown to walk for the American Heart Association. The 3-mile walk, which will start at 11am and end at approximately 2 pm, is being held in order to raise money for research, education and advocacy to fight heart disease and stroke.
