Step aside, Susan B. Anthony. Muhammad Al-Arifi is making some real milestones for women's rights. Saudi author and cleric "Dr." Al-Arifi appeared on Kuwaiti television in September to council men on the proper protocol for beating their wives.
In testament to the bedazzling progressiveness of the Saudi intelligentsia, Al-Arifi recommends that wives be admonished a full ten times before the beatings commence.
