Planned Parenthood opened a new full-service, 22000 sq.ft. health center in Aurora, Illinois' second largest city and most critical area to target high levels of sexual diseases and teen pregnancy.
According to Planned Parenthood, Aurora's four straddling county populations rapidly grew between 1990 and 2000 - DuPage by 15.7 percent, Kane 27.3 percent, Will 40 percent and Kendall 38.4 percent. Levels of AIDS cases grew, bringing Illinois at its current sixth ranking in the nation. Cases of STDs such as syphilis, gonorrhea, and Chlamydia rose or leveled, furthering Illinois' notoriety. Reproductive health service facilities bring these statistics down, but the taboo of such services and the social and moral delicacy of abortion pose strain on both law makers and citizens to push the question of reproductive health clinics.
Attention to areas with high density, low socio-economic populations with bare healthcare options was lacking the most in the Aurora area. The closest abortion provider was 20 miles from Aurora, but that is changed. The need for reproductive healthcare service was evidenced when the Planned Parenthood center in Naperville opened to later reported 13,700 visits last year, and even priced clinics proliferating about northern Illinois' wealthier counties.
For 60 years Planned Parenthood has provided the Chicago with non-profit medical services, education, counseling, and advocacy programs. They served more than 54,000 unique medical clients last year alone between their 10 clinics.
Some of the medical services they provide are birth control and contraceptives, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, pap tests, abortion and other gynecological services, counseling and finally adoption referrals. Planned Parenthood's Community Education department offers comprehensive sexuality education programs as well, furthering their efforts to prevent unintended pregnancies, but to help individuals make that decision on their own with education as a tool.
Originally planned to open Sept. 18, Planned Parenthood was in court proving allegations of committed fraud false at Aurora City Council. On Oct. 2 their occupancy and permit was issued by Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner to open that same day.

Why did this college paper feel it necessary to publish this story? The bias here in favor of Planned Parenthood is apparent. Where's the other side of the story? What about the tactics and ethical standards that Planned Parenthood uses to infiltrate neighborhoods and schools. (Continued…)

The author forgot to mention how this clinic murder babies and even encourages under-aged pregnant mothers to have abortion and not let their parents know. (Continued…)

I would like to respond to Gregory and John. I fail to see anything wrong with what planned parenthood does. As a parent of a minor daughter, I would rather see her have an abortion then have the baby. (Continued…)

Talk about intelligent, pragmatic responsibility! Tommy Kuzdas: Father of the year!
Foes of abortion and Planned Parenthood are just stupid. They advocate ideas about human life and the role of women in society that should make any rational person embarrassed. (Continued…)

In response to Tommy's "profound" questions. It is not evil for a woman to control her fertility or decide when to have children and how many to have. (Continued…)

Tommy,
My comment was meant only in the context of teenagers. Within the context of marriage, I agree with your statements. However, abortion should still not be an option for married couples, due to the fact that if a married couple enjoys sex however ignores the consequences and does not use the contraceptive options that is their choice. (Continued…)

Joseph, I can see the logic of your beliefs. However my daughter and my sons have a right to the knowledge which I have imparted to them regardless of weather or not said knowledge may encourage them to have sex. (Continued…)

Tommy,
I respect that your children do have a right to know their rights, everyone should. Unfortunately, many people do not take the time to educate themselves on their rights and responsibilities on many issues, but thats another story. (Continued…)

Josseph, I swore to myself that I was going to move on and do other things. Unfortunately I feel compelled to respond to you one more time. I now discuss the issue of consent. (Continued…)

It is interesting that you restrict your discussion to unprotected sex. What about protected sex? Based on what you have written, it seems that you would support abortion if the couple involved were using protection. (Continued…)
