Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic boasts fantastic soft sand that you can snuggle your toes into and is easily one of the best beach vacations in January. And of course, the weather in the Dominican Republic in January is excellent.
Although winter is high season in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic has been booming with new resorts and has lots of new cheap deals. In fact, the Domincan Republic could cost less than any other Caribbean Islands.
New York
New York is New York, no matter what time of the year. There's always something to do there whether it's hangin' in the high time tourist areas like Times Square or the Statue of Liberty or it's letting loose on the back streets of Brooklyn.
You can walk right into the museums there without waiting in line, and you can for a romantic skate at Rockefeller Center, testing out the wind chill. There's a million things to do in the city that never sleeps. Accomplishing just a few is well worth it.
Buenos Aires
If you want to head somewhere overseas where the weather is hot in January, think Buenos Aires. January is the height of summer in Argentina, being in the southern hemisphere. The temperatures can be a little on the hot side, but that sends many from the city to the coastal areas. That leaves Buenos Aires uncrowded, flights more affordable, and you can sit back with a beer and relax your break away.
Austin, Texas
Austin kicks ass this time of year. Warm days, cool nights, it's perfect for getting away form our frozen toes Chicago weather. The city has a nice mix of history, architecture, museums, nightlife, and arguably the best music scene in the country. Overall, Austin may be the best getaway for those on a budget who are looking for a drastic change of pace.
Bangkok, Thailand
Another warm destination in January is Thailand. Bangkok weather is always good, with little rain and warm, but not intense, heat. The "Venice of the East" has many attractions and historical sites, including the Grand Palace, and the amazing Floating Markets, Chinatown and tons of great shopping. Obviously Bangkok would be a more expensive destination but if you have some money to spare and you desire to get in touch with a beautiful ancient culture, Bangkok is the place to go.

Hey, the best place is Argentina. It is a warm country and people there are hot!
Anyways, I went to Buenos Aires last year and let me tell you that the Ecological Reserve and the Botanical Garden are some of the most beautiful places. (Continued…)
